"Who do you have to kill to find a little love around here?" Sara is thinking shortly before her chairman drops dead in front of her and she meets alpha male homicide cop Cavanaugh (Yeah, just Cavanaugh). Before she can climb out of her ivory tower she's already in way over her head.

I'm halfway into the book. The murder storyline is almost non-existent (lots of relationship stuff and sexual tension) and there's a ton of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and tense errors. (note to writers: characters' POV should never be in present tense)I'll probably finish it to find out who-done-it, but the other reviewer that compared this to a Bones episode needs to re-think their measuring guidelines.
2.5 stars - Honestly it wouldn't be a bad story, just needs a good pass with an editor who can tighten up the story and fix all the errors. On the plus side, it was free, so I'm not out anything but time.

Update after finishing the book:
Star score goes down the intangible half point to only two stars. The plot of the mystery is only barely mentioned in the whole book. 90% relationship stuff and 10% (because I'm feeling generous) is even related to the mystery. I'd hoped that the balance would get better after the initial relationship got laid out and they'd focus back on the mystery, but the second half of the book was nearly all relationship (lots of feelings and explicit sex - would NOT show book to my mother).
The relationship part isn't all that bad. If I were the editor I'd recommend re-working the story to make the balance at least 65-35 relationship-mystery, along with fixing the other issues of grammar, spelling, punctuation, verb tense, etc.

Fall Into His Arms L C Giroux 9781479330539 Books Reviews
A Kathy Reichs (Bones) style mix of mystery and smart sexy complex characters. Hot sex and a good story line. If this had been a series it could have been called Brains. Amazingly well written believable characters for a novella.
Love it fits my pandora bracelet great.
In the beginning I wanted to smack around the H/H a little bit, but they worked it out. Some hot lovin' and a little mystery. It was a good read.
I enjoyed the story. I expected an erotica and got a steamy romance with a little mystery thrown in. (Thus the higher rating.) The characters and their chemistry worked. The plot fell short for a full story on its own, however. Curious if her other books got better with more experience.
I read some of the other reviews but still downloaded the book and I'm glad I did. Story had a lot of grammatical errors that would sometimes throw me off, but all in all, I enjoyed the book enough to order Ms.(?) Giroux's next two books. The murder in the story was more of a way for the two main characters to meet instead of being a major factor of the story. So if you are looking for a murder mystery -romance, this isn't the book for you. But if you want a romance with a smart woman and tough yet tender guy with some steamy sex thrown in, this is the book for you.
I wanted to like this book, but the beginning was so boring for me that I started and stopped three times, before I decided to suck it up and finish it. The beginning would get 1 star but the middle and end bumped it up to 4 for me. I have read lots of erotica and this was decent, guess that part made it worth the torture of the beginning. Good ending tho.. I wouldn't recommend my friends wasting their time on it, but you can if you like...
The premise of this story looked promising. I ignored the four other reviews, especially the ones that mentioned typos thinking that I could overlook it. Sadly, I could not. There were just too many in this book, and each time I came across an error, it pulled me completely from the story.
I love a good mystery book, however, this one just didn't catch on for me. The book has a lot of promise. I feel that if the author would get a beta reader at least, that it could fix a lot of the basic typos, punctuation errors, and grammatical issues that this book has in it. If the author did that, I could easily give this book four stars. The erotica aspect was good as well, it was just the fact that I couldn't get into the story due to the unprofessionalism.
I don't recommend it unless the author fixes this stuff.
